i repaired the outside entertainment system antenna. the rv had a rubber-ducky am/fm antenna on the roof, but when we bought the coach the antenna was already gone. i guess it rusted off and ended up permanently "on the road".
anyway, i filed the mounting area flat, drilled a hole for a 31" long piece of stainless steel rod, and cross-drilled and tapped a hole for a very small setscrew. then i reinstalled the antenna onto the mount that goes through the rv roof. i plan to keep the antenna just a bit above horizontal when on the road, and raise it to vertical if needed when parked. right now, sitting in the driveway, i get good, quiet stereo from stations 50 miles away with the antenna "flat".
