So easy...even girls can do it! Our black water tank drain connection is leaking. My partner dumped (of course!) and flushed out the tank...then removed the "leaky" drain/piping connection at the bottom of our black water tank. After hours of internet research, conversations by phone, email, and in person with a mobile RV repair guy, employees at the Camping World parts counter, and the plumbing specialists at Lowe's...we believe we have a repair plan. We need part 88-1260 (ABS Adapter) made by Ameri-kart to attach to the drain on the bottom of the black water tank. This part will be attached using "Universal Cement" to glue the 88-1260 part into the tank, then connect all of the other black water plumbing (all parts have been scouted and purchased for replacement - including new gaskets for the valves).
FYI - There is NO good information anywhere on the internet that outlines the actual details of replacing a black water tank, or of replacing the plumbing of a black water tank! (Please let us know if you know otherwise.)
We will attempt the re-plumb next weekend. P.S. - We will also use a black water tank "drip pan" under the new plumbing to "catch" any drips and help us ensure our solution worked...
We welcome comments and will keep you posted on the outcome.
