Hi,
My Rv has lovely locking latches for the interior compartments. The knobs look like metal. However they are just plastic. (Typical corner cutting, eh?)
The other day, one came off right in my hand and I noted how flimsy they were.
There are six little plastic open segments on the inside of each knob, plus a threaded hole. I stuffed in Kleenex and filled up the segments with crazy glue, essentially making them into a solid piece of plastic, other than the threaded hole. When I put the knobs back on I used a tiny drop of Gorilla glue in the hole to keep them tight and stop them unscrewing by themselves in future.
