- RodneySExplorerI built a air hose for winterizing. Male end is a brass hose repair piece and a male air hose quick disconnect. Now I can fasten the air hose at 60 psi, go inside and drain from faucet to faucet without help.

Just went out there to get the drill - it has become the place where you can often find a tool because the last place it was used was there! Not because of all the repairs (we took care of that a couple of months ago), but because we're still working on getting it to exactly where we want it - preparing for our longest trip to date since we bought it in April - a week over Thanksgiving on Jekyll Island - which (sob) will probably be our last trip until the spring. After that we'll probably have to go ahead and winterize. To prepare, we've started a long list - please feel free to give us pointers, I've got the Thanksgiving crockpot recipe printed out, we've got a list of things we think we need to get done before we take off for 6 days away in the RV (the longest we've gone prior to this is 3 days) - Memory Foam mattress topper should arrive tomorrow, have a cable splitter and extension cord so that our oldest grandchild can burrow down in the cabover and watch her own shows in the evening, (don't know why the outlets are all in the last third of the RV), DH has built a basic counter out of wood with a cutout for the faucet to go over the sink so we can have a good food prep area, and still on our list are these, please let us know what we're missing:
Surge Protector
Those things to keep an awning from flapping
Water filter
Small stepladder for the cabover and other times when we need a ladder
ice cube trays
long mirror for bathroom door (I miss having a full length mirror)
Love this forum, we learn so much!
Would recommend you get some Orange Glow Flagging Tape very inexpensive,$2.00 for 200 feet at Lowe's, and there is no adhesive. Tear of a few pieces and tie to the lines and on the stakes for the deflapper. It helps in not tripping over them. - bob-lori-scoutExplorerJust went out there to get the drill - it has become the place where you can often find a tool because the last place it was used was there! Love this forum, we learn so much! - terowe99ExplorerBad day today! Put it away for the winter at my parents. Told her only 3 more winters alone, then I retire.
dick - tenbearExplorerOn the last day out this season I discovered thet the fridge was running on gas even though we were plugged in. Today, a few weeks later I repaired it. Turns out that the electric heater element was not plugged in securely. Got it plugged in right and it doesn't switch to gas :). Guess I'll find out next spring if it cools or not :B.
Winterized it a few days ago. - viticultureExplorerAfter getting DIY advice from fellow RV'rs here in this forum, I changed out my fuel filter on both my MH and my GMC truck. Was able to get my tires and TireMan valve stems installed yesterday along w/ getting an alignment done. Tomorrow I'll finish up with my application of wax. Right now, it's time for a glass of wine!
- Mike__RoseExplorerToday I went out to the rv and took out a few items that I can use in the stick house. Needed duct tape and an extension cord. Cannot find anything in the stick house, but know every nook and cranny in the RV and where everything is located. When DW asks for a certain item in the house I always say I don't know where it is in the house but it is in the kitchen cabinet of the 2nd basement storage bin in the RV! I also made sure my mice traps were empty and still loaded!
