- bukhrnNomadFinally got my new Trojan 12V SCS225's put in,had them for a week, just needed a good (dry) day to do it, & reinforced the battery box due to the extra weight (19 lbs per battery), probably unnecessary, but makes me feel better.

Hope you are getting to use your Jamboree. We went to the coast for a few days in December. Right now we are checking everything and getting ready for our first dry camping trip in this motorhome. We go to New Melones Lake above Sonora with 2 other couples and love it. I live south of Fresno and am well aquainted with the summer heat. - snowdanceExplorer

I Cheated I just bought a new electric buffer, Maybe one day I will run out of things to do, Then I will start buffing.
I have one of those. Find it nice but gets a bit heavy for me to use over my head long. So kind of stick to a rag. Its a bit lighter. - snowdanceExplorer

Hi Snowdance
We always put the vent covers on so we can have fresh air and also to keep the windows from sweating. They are great. We have only had this motorhome since last November and trying to get ready to go on some trips. 2011 Winnegabo View 24J.
Con grads on your new winne. I do like that one very much. We got our 2000 Jamboree last Sept.
We love the vent covers for the same reasons plus when traveling in the heat or cold. Like going to see family south west of Fresno in mid summer we open the rear vent a little and crank the cab AC up. It sucks the cool air thru the complete motorhome. Keeps all of our motorhome cool even in the Valley heat. It works the same with the heater. Leave it closed and the cab AC and heater, heat and cool only the cab area. We enjoy the even heat and cool. - snowdanceExplorer

A bit shorter season in the mountains from the sounds of it. Here in the lowlands some winters it may just touch freezing, such as in an El-Nino year. Not this year, de-winterized and re-winterized twice for trips.
Some times I wish we had that type of weather. But we enjoy being here so much I decide the extra work of doing things like this are worth it.
We may have freezing as late as June and as early as Oct. We got this motorhome in mid Sept and I put antifreeze in because I was not sure I could just blow it out and do a good job. So this is the first time I have blown the lines ect. But need to know as we have so much good weather in Spring and Fall. And only need to travel a few miles for it to be much warmer.
Tonight will be in the 20's so when we fill the tank and go on our trip next weekend we will know if I have it worked out. I blew the water lines out on our Airstream trailer for 20 years and did fine with it.
We lived on our sail boats for 10 years. My first time to have water lines freeze was when we got caught on Lake Michigan in early fall. From that time on I have always tryed to have a quick plan and and long term plan. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
I brought it home so it can be cleaned inside after the last winter trip. - RambleOnNWExplorer II

We also dewinterized yesterday. Ran every thing. It all went well.
We flushed the anti freeze out of the water lines ect. But in our part of the world freezing temps and snow are common until June. So We blow the water lines out and add antifreeze to the sink drains so we can use it early in the year. We also have the same problems in the fall and do it the same but when winter is comming we use the antifreeze.
