Well, we made the plunge and bought the American Tradition. I took Mike and Trishes advice and checked out the internet. PPL didn't have anything near as nice as this one. RvTrader had one in NJ that had 4 slides and looked good but I'm on the west coast at the moment. After hurricane Sandy I really felt that it was prudent to stay away from NJ coastal sales.
I have to say thet the ride is definitely better on the DP with air ride, but on 101 in Morgan Hill CA the DP rattles as much as my gasser. Acceleration on the DP is very similar to acceleration on the 8.1 liter gasser when not towing. I'll have to wait until I tow the CRV to see if there's an improvement with the DP. As for mileage we were getting 6.5 to 8 mpg on the gasser (mountain vs flat land), we'll have to see what the mileage holds for us on the DP. I expect an increase of about 10% for fuel costs, but that may be offset by an increase in fuel economey. We won't be able to pick the coach up until they complete the PDI and we take delivery in Reno NV (3% difference insales tax between SD and CA).
