If you are satisfied with what you got for whatever you paid, that is all that counts. It sounds nice and the American Tradition is a very nice rig.
As far as acceleration, from the DP had for 8 years (36' with a CAT 330) and the one we now have (42' with Cummins 425), diesels are not hot rods in terms of off-the-line acceleration. Also, remember that the gas coach with the big block Chevy engine is probably much lighter than the Tradition you just purchased. Where the diesel will shine (assuming it is running right with proper boost, etc.), is when you get it loaded for travel and a toad hooked to the back and head out into the hills. Plus, you won't have to listen to that gas engine under your feet screaming at 4500 rpm to get you up that hill.
