What do you use to raise height of your chairs?

We have just purchased a 2017 Sunseeker MH. The driver and passenger seats can turn completely and face the back of the unit. This is similar to the seats in a Class A. Unfortunately the Class C has these seats in a stepdown portion of the cab so it's like sitting on low beach chairs. The dealer showed us some bolster cushions but they wanted $175 for each.

What do you use to raise the height of your seats?

Thanks.

Are you sure the bolsters the dealer showed you were not the ones the factory supplied with you unit. On some Winnebago models that have this issue Winnebago supplies bolsters. Maybe a call to the factory would help. Dick

We were offered some cushions from Winneabgo, by the sals man put they were about $50.

  • You'd think something would be offered to bolt in between the pedestal and the seat itself, something similar to what is used in lower-end cars, a lever to ratchet the seat up and down....nothing electric, all mechanical.

I wonder if you could take one from a junk car and retro-fit it somehow. But it would add height. You would likely need to cut down the pedestal and weld it again. It would make for an interesting project.
  • We bought a new mh a year ago, and found the same problem, and spent the winter in Florida, sitting on cushions.
This fall before going to Florida I plan on making some brackets to raise the seats. The seats will be raised when we get to FL and be lowered back down before leaving for home. Just used when parked. Don't want to violate any driving laws.
It would be nice to have something that could be permanently installed to change the hight up and down.
  • Some kind of cushion is the only acceptable solution because any modification to the seat itself or the mount mechanism would likely make it less "crash worthy".
  • I understand your dilemma. Everyone with a Ford chassis class-C (maybe Chevy/GMs too) with front seats that swivel suffer the same issue. I don't know of any supplier that offers a swivel seat base with vertical adjustment.

I don't know about the Sprinters.
