What house battery should I buy?

Sounds like two 6volt golf cart batteries, connected in series, will do the job and be the best bang for the buck, especially at Sam's Club or Cosco's. You don't say about your space, but some also have two sets of the above and then with these two banks connected in parallel for a total of 12vdc.
