What is an exceptable DOT date code for new tires??

About to purchase a couple of tires, 255/80/22.5 XZE Michelin's. Been speaking with a Michelin dealer that excepts the Michelin advantage program,they have the tires at another dealer's location. The ...

I'm replacing a set of XZE that have dates on them showing nine years. The tires themselves look great with no cracking or other issues, except the age. looked at other brands but through the Michelin's advantage the cost of the tire before tax, mount,balance is under $475. looks like 7 mos. on one and 8 mos on the other.
