What is an exceptable DOT date code for new tires??

About to purchase a couple of tires, 255/80/22.5 XZE Michelin's. Been speaking with a Michelin dealer that excepts the Michelin advantage program,they have the tires at another dealer's location. The ...

I spoke with the dealer and even though they're over six months old, but not much. 2814 and 3314 are the codes second week of July 2014 and first week of August. The dealer said they didn't have any control what tires michelin sent.
We decided to go with them, dealer said he wouldn't charge for tire rotation that we're also having done.
