We have the US Gear Unified Brake System which is much like Roadmaster's Invisabrake. It incorporates a small vacuum pump that is installed under the hood and attached to the toad's vacuum line so that the toad's power brake system is utilized.
Once installed, Unified system doesn't require ANY further connection of any cables and or wires when you connect or disconnect the toad to/from the MH. You simply hook up your umbilical cable and off you go.
It is as proportional as you can get compared to any other system. You will also have a small control unit in the MH's cockpit that allows you to adjust the amount of braking force you want on the toad and will alert you to any disconnection between the MH and toad.
Like the Unified system, Readybrake has cable going to the toad's brake pedal, but have you ever tried to apply your car's brakes when the engine is not running? You will really have to put lots and lots of pressure to apply sufficient amount of force to operate the brakes effectively...much like what Readybrake has to do. With the Unified system, the toad's normal power brake system is utilized...
I originally had my unit installed by a professional, but have since removed and installed the system on two other toads of mine and it's not that difficult. Roadmaster provides excelling instruction.
Highly recommend it.
