What is the best Tow/Brake set up for a Towed Vehicle?

The Ready Brute/Ready Brake systems DO have an available "breakaway" system. It costs an additional $100, IIRC.
Out of the literally thousands of towed vehicle on the roads at any given time, (especially during the summer), how many have broken away?
In all the years I have been a member here, I can only remember two reported breakaways, and they were receiver failures, where the "breakaway" feature never activated!
