Inadvertantly finding myself on a Parkway in NY, with a 10'-6" overpass ahead....that will get your attention.
Next in line would be taking the RV to be serviced (it doesn't matter where), knowing its 50/50 that the "technicians" last job was at the drive thru at McDonalds, and I am gonna be charged approximately 100 per hour for their training. Been there, done that. So have you.ya just didn't know it!
LOL, good post!
We had the same experience in Pennsylvania when we came up to a bridge that had a sign "12.0".... we were 12'8". Luckily, there was a place for us to pull off. We didn't know what to do as we were in a strange area. So, we called the police. They dispatched a patrol car and the guy couldn't have been nicer.
He gave us exact directions to get around the low bridge that took us over the railroad tracks a fews miles down the road. The officer told us it was good that we were on 'this' side of the bridge because there was no place on the other side to pull over.
Before the officer arrived, I had to disconnect the toad and back up on a side street. Of course it started to rain during the process!
Only one other time we came up to a low bridge and the 'get-around' was very easy. The northeast is an old part of the country with low bridges, etc., I just didn't want to take off our air conditioners!
