In my 1999 Endeavor, I have a minor water leak. During the process of tracking down the leak I found a valve looking object that is in line to the hot water line and mounted underneath my bath room sink above the hot water tank. It is mounted higher than the tank so I think it is an air valve that allows the line to drain properly. Am I correct??

Sounds like a pressure relief valve.

Does it look anything like This, they're pressure relief valves.

Might also be an inline check valve. Hard to tell without a picture.

Are you positive it is in the water heater line in or out?Tank flush back flush valve would be in the flush line, located as you described and the vent for the tank should be on the outside.Flush valve
