I think choosing a tow vehicle has a lot to do with how and where you camp and what do you want to do with the vehicle when your not camping. Do you want to use the vehicle as your daily driver? Do you have a long commute to work and mpg are important to you? What is your tow limit? On a gas MH lighter is better. This is a very individual choice. For me I wanted mine to be a DD that got good gas mileage. I don't go off road just dirt roads so I chose a small 5 speed manual sedan that gets 40 mps and weights 2600 lbs. It's been towed 80,000 miles and driven another 165,000. If you full time or travel a lot off road your choice might be different.
