What's the hardest ticket to get on the Oregon Coast?

Oregon state parks start taking reservations 9 months out. So now is the time to make them. On 101 besides any of the state parks, Netarts Bay RV, Salmon Harbor at Winchester bay, Sea N Sand and Brookings Harbor are all great for views.

Holstein13, there are lots of covered bridges to tour around Coburg, OR. Not sure if the kids would be all that interested. They have the dates that they were built and some are now only used for walking bridges. I'm glad that Oregon kept them, nice history.

It seems, anything on the coast is difficult to get a reservation in. We travel as much as possible without reservations or specific stop spots. We use AllStays.com and start looking seriously around 2 PM. Like to stop, be set up and cocktail by 4:30 or 5 when we can.

All the coastal places I would suggest booking a couple months out if you can.

We have already made reservations for Anderson's RV Park in Long Beach, WA for the International Kite Festival in the middle of August.

If you plan on staying anywhere during a holiday weekend or for longer than a few days, I would get reservations sooner rather than later.

We have already reserved sites at a number of Oregon State Parks on the Coast....5 weeks total so far.

But, we have our favorite sites and those are the ones we reserve 9 months in advance.

Nail down what yo can. Seems Oregon Parks are gaining in populatiry. I went to make a reservation for Champeog State park near portland and they are all full for next weekend. Crazy.

If you like this sort of thing, think about the hang glider festival in Lakeview OR over fourth of July week.

WA parks are the same. We love our summers at the beach, lake or trailhead. Plan and reserve now.

With a 45' mh, I would think that most "state" parks may be not your cup of tea. There are plenty of "rv parks" on the coast and at least one "resort".

The resort is in Newport (central coast) and reservations are required and probably should be made in several weeks advance. Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort can be a little pricey, especially if you choose one of the ocean view lots on the bluff. Newport has lots and lots of things to see, do, and some great restaurants. Two light houses, working bay front, golf course, museum, fishing (lake, river and ocean), and many miles of beaches.

Winchester Bay RV park is a nice place to stay also. Premier RV park in Lincoln City, Sea & Sand in Depot Bay, are a couple of others on the central coast that you may be interested in.

If you are an Elk member, most of the lodges on the coast have rv spots available as does 1000 Trails parks.

Good luck... Oregon coast is one of the must sees for any rv'er heading for the west coast.

We really enjoyed the Kite Festival last year. The next day we drove on the beach with our AWD CRV.

GD went horse back riding on the beach at Pacific City. Then we drove out on the beach and watched the Dory's landing - very interesting.
