  • The generator is designed to lean like that. I had the same thought the first time I checked out my RV during the purchase process. Check out the link below of the operation manual. The cover shows the genset on an angle, as does every other diagram in the manual.

  • i saw that about the genny leaning. i was wondering about that. what would one do about that? I have a son that lives about 100 or so miles north of where this unit is. He is a John Deere ex mechanic that is now the store manager,, so he knows engines/motors inside and out. also he is a one man show when it comes to electric and plumbing etc... so he's my final judge. I am pretty picky but also open minded that the cosmetics can be spruced up and would be a fun project, given that i probably have a while before we can take it out. im excited,, thanks for all the advice. Keep posting! i love this forum!
  • You need to especially check for water leaks in the ceiliing, in the cuboards, around the vents and on the floor under any plumbing such as the sinks, toilet and shower.

The generator looks like it's listing to the left, or is is just me? That's a heavy weight that could have broken its mounts.

It could need some new batteries, but they're relatively cheap. Have him start and test everything so that you know everything works and how to work it.

To me the price is reasonable, hope you can make a deal.

  • Check all inside corners and the area above the cab for any water damage.
  • thanks, Pappy,, yes,, i know aabout the tire thing,, and also,,, from reading here on the forum,, i know that it better have been used often. But judging the low milege, perhaps they mean this is a new engine? i just need to call the guy and have a chat w/ him before i drive the 80 miles to have a look.

thanks so much for your opinion. this forum is the bomb (as the kids say)
  • I'm guessing you are asking about this one:

The trouble with older units like this, especially with it's low mileage, is that it wasn't used. Yeah, sounds funny, but these things really need to be used.....
If everything is working, that is a plus, but make sure you really check them out!!
You could end up doubling your investment, just getting things ready to use it.
Check the mfgr date on the tires.....Even though he says "Brand New Tires", it may be that he's just commenting that they look like they are brand new!! And, if they are more than 8 years old, you'll want to replace them!

    Good luck:)
  • shoot..... hey! that's it! can ya'll take a look and see if this might be anything that a poor gal and guy should grab for a first time out type of thing?

by the way,,, how did you do that???
