Mr. Mark. I understand. And since Tx is the state w/the 3rd highest taxes you'd think that the Governor and previous ones would have looked at the models (tax models) that the other 47 states use. I go to city hall/tax assessors office Every yr to fight it. For the past 3 yrs they've been wanting to raise my property value 50K at a time. I'm sick and tired of it. So in 3 yrs when my son graduates I'll be selling.
It's not just property taxes that needs to be taken in consideration to taxes paid annually in Texas, versus other States. States' income taxes also need to be compared to do an accurate analysis. Texas, has none, which is a huge advantage over most of the 47 States you're citing.
Agree that was the point just because one city has large tax charges you just can not assume the whole of texas is like that
The whole of Tx uses the same formula. Believe me I looked at EVERY county to our liking. We're talking a difference of give and take 500 to 1000 dollars. There is One county in Tx that is almost comparable to Louisiana property tax, but it's a county that's ALL desert with 1 or 2 po dunk Hamlets. Yup houses are really cheap in Tx, but it's the property taxes that Hang you.
