- Road_DogExplorer55% or better!
- winnehondaExplorerThanks.
- DeWatExplorerThe one I've seen the most is 53%, but I have also seen some that say 50%. Then there are those who will say that the whole length to wheelbase ratio is a myth, but personally I choose to go by 53%. If you look at the second question under the FAQs at Henderson's Line-Up, a pretty good authority in steering and suspension, you will see that while they don't give a specific ratio, they do talk about shorter wheelbases being a contributing factor to porpoising.
- JetAonlyExplorerAlso depends on where the weight is, motor in front vs motor in back.
- rgatijnet1Explorer IIIThe loading of the coach has more to do with the handling than the wheelbase. With a long wheelbase, if the front end is loaded light, the coach will wander. With a short wheelbase, with the front end loaded close to the maximum axle weight, the coach will handle fine.
- EffyExplorer IICan I assume (bad I know) that a unit with a tag throws some of this out the window? I think from stability a tag is the best right?
- JetAonlyExplorerTag adds stability.
- rgatijnet1Explorer IIITag adds stability as does a toad behind your coach.
