I'd have the valve inspected/replaced at the minimum. It also can't hurt to do as above and take care of the rust so it isn't a red flag to propane fillers.
If you have to replace the tank, the cost $500-$600 not cheap, but it is a heck of a lot cheaper than losing one's rig (or life) due to a rupture caused by corrosion or a defective valve. A lot of cars rust out in 14 years, so I wouldn't expect any different from a steel propane tank.
