when does one have to replace LP tanks?

Manchester Tank (www.mantank.com) made a lot of the installed tanks. There was a big discussion in the B forum some years back about them rusting prematurely, and quite badly, on some Roadtreks. One guy (Rodger, then the moderator) investigated, and (IIRC) found that they had had a batch of bad painting in the early 2000's.
Dunno if this is your problem, or if the company would offer any help. The dam' things cost $500 and up, so you probably don't want to replace it if it's not needed.
