Where do you place your inside level?

When you are setting up at your campsite or RV site where do you place your level?

We have a little round level. We usually set it on one of the refrigerator shelves. Sometimes on the counter. Occasionally the readings are different.

I have read where some people have a level outside, some use a plumbers level, some the app on the iPhone.

Just wondering where you all place your level?
  • When I bought my rig I leveled it using a bubble level inside the freezer compartment.
While it remained parked in that level position I drilled in a small level on the dash for right to left and another one above the passenger seat for front to rear.
I eyeball them whenever I park to get as close to level as possible before I deploy my hydraulic jacks if need be.
  • I initially leveled based on the fridge shelf. Once that was level, I placed a round bullseye level near the driver seat of my clipper. I made sure it showed level where I placed it. Now, I can simply see while I'm behind the wheel if I'm level or not. It's so much easier than having to climb into the back with each move.

With the FnR, there is a bar level (with the small perpendicular level) at the front that I can see from the rear view mirror and when I'm at the hitch.
  • My levels are permanently attached. They were originally set based on having the master bed level, as that's the most important thing to me.
  • On a stove burner. You might level several places at home and, take an average. Then you can use the easiest one to access at camp.
  • Just inside the front door where I can easily see it when returning to adjust the leveling blocks.
  • I get my rig setup so that it's comfortable and then check (phone with level/bubble app) using the fridge as source.
  • I initially place a bullseye level on the bottom of the refrig. I then use a level on the floor at mid span to see if they agree. If they do I then attach 2 small bubble levels to the refrig for each direction l-r, fr-rear. I then use these 2 to determine refrig level when we park. Also have 2 small bubble levels next to the auto leveler control to manually level the rig.

I tried the electric one that looks like a big X but wasnt happy with results. Most folks will tell ya to keep a level in the bottom of the refrig to be sure.
