I wish I had a nickel for every time someone said we are not willing to pay for quality, and we get what we paid for. Bunk!
Like others have said, you should expect and receive a certain level of quality, even in entry level units. The American RV manufacturers will continue churn out shoddy products as long as we are willing to buy them and there is no threat from foreign competitors.
Bunk? really so the screw driver that you bought at HD for 4$ is as good as a mac or snap-on is for $9? I seriously do not think so
I have not purchased Mac or Snap On tools for over 20 years. They are not worth the price I pay. Not when I can purchase tools from Sears/Lowes/HD and THEY come with a lifetime warranty. NOT true of Mac and Snap On. When I purchased Snap On tools 38 years ago and for the next 10 years or so, Snap On would repair or replace any tool that broke or malfunctioned(Especially air tools which they charge a fortune for). When they stopped that I stopped purchasing from them. Doug
