We are looking at a new Winnebago class A Vista 26HE. It has no spare but has room in rear storage compartment. Looked online and couldn't find any plain rims. I want to see if I can get one in negotiations. Need the cost of rim, the tire cost was easy to find. I don't want to start a discussion on pros and cons of having a spare.
I will be calling roadside assistance to change a flat most likely. I estimate the tire will cost just under $500, but how much is a rim and who sells it.
Actually, just having the tire on board is the real ticket and not having to search one out for hours on end for possibly an exorbitant price as well. This assuming that you have COACH-NET or other and are not planning on changing it yourself alongside the road.
I do have a mounted spare, but then, this is the way our coach is built and with having it's own dedicated hinged door compartment on the back and we use it for other storage as well.
For the one time, we needed tire road service, there was no need for the spare, so one never knows.
