Where to get window slider replaced?

Well we had our 07 Georgetown 350 DS broken into in Yellowstone. They broke the front passenger side slider that's part of a larger window. Problem is it's going back out next week and we would really like to have it fixed. I called around my local forest river dealer and they told me 2-3 weeks minimum. Is it possible to just replace the slider part or does the entire window have to be replaced. Ill post up a pic of the window.

  • I'm sure you could get just the glass from FR but since they are tempered, it's going to be a special order...can't just cut one to fit... The window frame will have to be pulled. There is a splice in the frame that lets you 'open it up' to get the glass out/in.
  • Try your local glass repair shop. You'd be surprised at what they can do. Usually have the correct glass in house and can cut to fit.

  • Once tempered glass is made it can't be cut. You can order tempered glass to size from any shop but it is a made to order product.
  • for a temp, you can get a piece of Lexan at Home Depot till your order comes in.
  • Find out what brand your windows are and write down all information from one of the tags on the glass. Do an internet search with that information. Ours are Hehr Corporation. When we did a search we located a shop that specalized in various brand of RV windows and it appeared they had an inventory of all the special sizes and shapes from the various RV's. We were looking at the driver/passenger stationary window - but I think you could order the sliding part too.
