Where to install Outside temperature sensor?

While planning to install another remote wireless temperature sensor on our coach and I'm wondering what innovative places others have found and how they are attached.

We have one sensor bracket attached with double back tape in a small void under the outside of a slide out. The newest sensor also reports humidity as well as temperature. My propane compartment might be a candidate but it also gets lots of road dirt/water etc from the front wheel.

The generator space may also be suitable except when the generator is in operation.

Where did you put yours and how did you attach it?

  • I put an outside sensor on the front frame, behind the front cap, out of the direct path for dirt and water. I used nylon cable ties to hold it in place. I also put another sensor in the wet bay since we travel a lot during the Winter and spend a lot of time in sub-freezing temps.
  • Front wall of the propane compartment. I made two wire bands and screwed then to the wall, never lost it. JMO
