The typically preferred states for establishing a domicile for fulltiming are Florida, South Dakota, and Texas. All three have advantageous tax laws, but there are some differences to consider when deciding which one fits your needs best. Vehicle and health insurance differences are another consideration. The usual method of establishing a domicile in a given state involves setting up a mail forwarding address at one of the commercial forwarders in the state of choice, and then registering your vehicles and obtaining drivers licenses there.
