Which batteries power in dash radio?

No dump questions on that one, First 4 units it was the chassis battery, the Thor I just bought, it operates off the house battery as it is interconnected to entertainment system.

op here. Think that might be it. I do not have any switch like others, and it is wired with TV. I did disconnect house batteries, bingo, no radio. Thanks everyone

Two point two options depending on motor home

1: Dash devices run off CHASSIS battery
2: Switch (Somewhere) Selects
3: bi-direcitonal isolator, when hooked to shore power or running genny, charges all batteries in parallel so it runs off both when you have 120vac.

Of course last night.. I only had 120vac when Mr. Onan was making it.. Seems Consumer's power did not provide.

Hi Kathy, our dash radio is on the chassis batteries and the outside entertainment center is on the house batteries.

Mine runs off chassis batteries and to be honest I never really looked for a "switch" to use house power instead. I do however only run when hooked to shore power and then chassis batts are recieving a small charge. Haven't had an issue running off chassis batts so far.

The only Dumb Question is the one you are afraid to ask for fear of looking dumb.

As you have found, the answer is a big Maybe...
Even if it was on the chassis when it was built, it may not be now.
More than a few have been changed. (I have changed about a dozen.)

I have a switch on the dash that controls whether the radio is powered by the chassis battery when it's running or the house batteries when we're stopped.

All my MH's had a switch on the dash.
To run the radio off the chassis or house batts.

With ignition off. See if radio still works.
Than look for a switch. Not sure how your would be labeled.
