The kids, we have a 9 year old and a 13 year old, want the 38 ft bunkhouse. I would like the extra half bath that comes with the 38ft non-bunkhouse model.
We looked at the Itasca Meridan and the Solei models, in the same 38ft length. The 2014 Itasca's come in white seating, only. Not a godo mix with kids.
I am looking for a manufacturer that is known for quality. We would like to stay around 38 feet. I am hoping for a consus like "Tiffen is the way to go" and/or Avoid Fleetwood diesels, or guidance like that.
We were offered the Red in the bunkhouse model for $200k, and wonder if we could do better than that if we go that direction also.
Now, you're talking...people here know what to respond to. Since you're talking kids and bunks, many models are off the table. I don't have a problem with your selection of manufacturers, but be sure to your research. I have heard some really bad things with some. Do your test drive and check every nook and cranny. Don't jump in.
Tiffin and Winnebago have very good reputations. Others, like Newmar should be at the top of your list. As you do your research, look at the details like build quality. We have a Winnebago Tour and there are some build issues. Look at those things and decide which you can live with.
Above all, think about how you'll use it down the road. Is this a floor plan you'll want as your second home? Is this something your family will enjoy years from now?
