We have a 2011 Berkshire 390 bh which is the bunkhouse model. No major issues and every issue that we have encountered has been resolved to our satisfaction by either the dealer or the factory. Many of the issues were past warranty and were still resolved free of charge.
Like you we had looked at the Tiffins and Itascas as well as the Berkshire. Tiffin has had a ton of major structural quality issues and it seems like so many Tiffin owners have to make the trek to Red Bay, Alabama to get issues resolved like it was a pilgrimage to Mecca. Many have spent weeks and even months sitting in Red Bay waiting for service. We are still working and have no desire to spend our available free time waiting for service. This, along with other issues ruled out the Tiffin.
Our Itasca gasser that we had prior was a decent unit with a minimum of issues. Our local Itasca/Winnebago dealer has really bad service and sales to match so we looked at the Berkshire. For us the Berkshire has been the best bang for the buck by far. It was less expensive than the others and better constructed and we have been very pleased with the manufacturer and the dealer.
When we make the next move to a tag axle and go without the bunks, we'll be looking at Newmar and Entegra. Those two manufacturers seem to have the least amount of issues and the best customer service. Forest River also makes a tag in their Charleston model, but the floor plans and construction of the Newmar and Entegra are top notch for what will probably be our last unit.
