Which sealant to use on replacing exterior speaker?

I had an exterior speaker get sun dried causing a crack. When it would rain heavy I would get water inside. I have purchased the same replacement speaker and need to install it. But I can't seem to...

Yep, smear it all over that black looking cone gizmoe. Layer it one deep, at least an inch should work.

Mask it off. This will seal into the paint and gel coat. No moisture will get in. Masking will make it easier to pull a clean edge.
