WHICH TIRES
WE HAVE A NEW TO US 1997 CLASS A SOUTHWIND 32 FOOT. WE HAD IT WEIGHTD THE OTHER DAY IT IS 15,800 LBS TOTAL. I WAS NOT SURE ABOUT THE TIRES IS THER SOME RULE OF THUMB AS TO WHAT TYPE OF TIRE I SHOUL...

I'm in the same situation as the original poster. My RV has 16" tires and based on the age code, they will be 7 years old this October. I've inspected the tires and they look brand new (only about 4,500 miles on them) with no visible exterior cracks. I'm not sure if there are any cracks on the inside, but I hate to pay to have them pulled off and check. My tires are not as expensive as the 19.5" or 22" tires, but still not cheap.
Given that information, Camping World was trying to sell me some Goodyear Wrangler tires. I'm not sure if these are any good or if anyone knows of a better/less expensive brand. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
AS a blowout can cause thousands of dollars of damage and keep you off the road for weeks I think it false economy to not get new tires to replace the 7 years old ones. A visual inspection of the outside is not sufficient to verify structural integrity. Mileage is not the problem. AGE is; in fact the lack of miles on the tires is worse as it means the tires have been sitting around and that is not good for a tire
