You've got a good start by knowing what the rig weighs. That's an excellent start. What engine/platform are you running? 1997 was the last year most RV manufacturers used 16" wheels, and those usually are LT235/85R16 Load Range E (which means 10-ply truck radials). I replaced the tires on my rig when I first bought it, and the cheaper brands all blew out eventually (Cooper, most notably). The Goodyear Wranglers and Uniroyal Laredo's have lasted best, but whichever brand you choose, I'd recommend investing in a tire monitoring system. Also, if you're on an F-53 chassis, you might want to check the sway bar bushings in the rear. Happy trails,
