This is very well put. After spending many thousands on a rig, the best thing you can do is put a metal cover over it. Whats a couple grand more? A metal cover won't stop a leak, but will enable you to spot one on a trip before it does huge damage. Cover it, then be vigilant with inspecting it. Then when your on a trip and it rains, check inside everywhere, especially overhead bunk, windows, slide, marker lights. Be on it like white on rice.
