There is another way to check for leaks on the over hang, go to one of the corners underneath and push up on the bottom, if the panel flexes it is a sign that there is rot from leaks, or they placed a couple of drain holes.
Also check the sides if you notice any waves or bulging that is also water damage, another area is where the cab meets the house part inside the vertical panel 90 degrees to the frame, any sponginess and also in the back area where the roof meets the sides, they may have painted inside but rot is spongy wood.
