A big windshield is not needed to R&R a refer. A side window can be removed much easier which is what my installer did. You do have to remove the doors but they will fit through a window
My Norcold fridge is 24" deep, and my entry door is 26" wide, so no problem removing it here without taking anything apart. I'll have to check the dimensions on a residential fridge though, if I decide to go that route should this one fail.
