We've had our coach for a little over a year now and have had two blowouts....well, one blowout and one tread separation. The blowout was from a 10 year old tire...that was my fault. The tread separation and failure was from a faulty brand new tire. Both incidents occurred about a month apart. After the first blowout, we replaced all tires with brand new ones (date codes less than 4 months on the shelf till installed).
To get to the OP's original point, I don't think that blowouts are more frequent in the RV community. I, like other posters think that you just don't hear about the millions of happy miles travelled WITHOUT blowouts. Kinda like when you hear of a plane crash....folks will inevitably stop traveling by airplane for a while. But what they don't think about is that the media doesn't report on the hundreds of thousands of people that travel SAFELY on airplanes every day.
