Why would anyone want an outside TV?

I have been looking at "A"s on line.

After I sell my house I plan on trading the 5ver for an A and full timing it.

All the As that most dealers have in stock new and used have ann outside TV. I do not understand why anyone would watch TV outside (other than a baseball or football game).
If the weather is nice outside I would rather take the dogs for a walk or do some kind of physical activity such as horse shoes. I can understand why a outside shower is useful and a outside stove are nice but I prefer a charcoal grill. But sitting outside watching TV seems useless, heck I would rather people watch (watching people walk by).

Outside TVs must be popular because almost every A that I see has one but I was wondering if many people on this forum have a outside TV and if you do, do you enjoy having it?

  • We watch our outside TV depending on the weather. Our current outside TV is 55"....and has internet radio capabilities, etc. I like listening to music (quietly) outside.

If you don't watch it, just keep it for the next customer.

    MM.
  • We never use our outside tv and I ditched the outdoor music setup that came with our coach and have my own exterior speakers, amp, and digital music source for outdoor listening. I love sitting outdoors in my lawn chair and listening to music. I can access 20K songs in lossless cd quality and control it all with my phone.
  • Not in my RV. Every bit of storage is much more important. A 42 inch tv with air conditioning inside is nice. I am a full timer so a tv outside is not important.
  • Sometimes when we have people over to our lot, we watch a program on TV. Sometimes it's a game, sometimes something else. We also like to have people over to play WII bowling. That's a lot of fun and you can't do it in the MH.
  • Didn't think I'd enjoy one. But ours came with a outside TV and stereo. Actually we've found it very enjoyable. We're but older in age. Wife is fighting cancer and other health issues and can't be as active as she use to. She enjoys being outside and watching a show or listening to some good music while conversing with me ... in my mind is priceless.

Not everyone is running around setting the world on fire.

Yep. But, they keep adding novelties to RV's and we keep buying them.
I've never understood the outside televisions, etc..
Some people go camping to get away from it all, and take it all with them.
  • We have one on our coach and since I love my football, I watch it occasionally while cooking outside or really just outside doing about anything, even campfires. I always have the sound turned down so I can't even hear it unless I am right next to the TV.

different strokes for different folks! :B
  • boondocking in middle of desert, 10 people, Super Bowl Sunday......'nuff said. However we don't keep a tv there, we'll move out indoor tv outside.
