Tengonet is a professional setup and should be just fine. I've said that it is highly unlikely that you would be taken while using a campground WIFI but in a lot of the smaller parks it would be really easy. My god, it would be such a perfect situation. If I were of lesser moral fiber, I could make a killing.

After you shifted through gigabyte after gigabyte of family vacation pictures and millions of e-mails saying "I miss you Gramdma and Grandpa" you might be ready to kill yourself. Even if you were able to compromise the wifi system of a "smaller" RV park, the odds are you are going to steal the account information of accounts that hold miniscule amounts of money in the grand scheme of things. You might make the account holders life miserable for a week or two as they go through the fraud recovery minefield, but you won't be transferring millions of dollars with a series of untraceable transactions into your secret offshore bank account and then skipping the country to Bolivia to live the sweet life. You are almost assuredly not going to be compromised through a campground's router, the risk versus reward equation is out of whack.

Ok sure. Believe that all you want. The risk would be apprehension by the authorities depending on what you did with the information obtained by the pharming and how sloppy you were in setting up your own DNS server. Your comment about sifting through gigs of personal pictures shows that you don't understand how it would work. Also, a person wouldn't have to have much in the bank in this day and age, just a good credit score.

The people that mentioned using a VPN are smart. It's just one of those things: the odds are low that you could get hit but I don't quite see the upside of telling people not to worry about it.
