I just got done cleaning the underside of my RV hood. It was dirty and I didnt like the way it looked so I washed it and waxed it... Cleaned everything else under there too..

I'm sorry the wife is correct.
I just wash the underside and apply anti-rust paint if I see signs of rusting or oxidation.- There are “clean” engines and what you did. Unnecessary to do what you did IMO.
