If it was commonly known there are issues between 30,000 and 50,000 miles, and you had 49,000 miles, shouldn't the water pump be replaced as part of preventative maintenance???
I'm getting ready to replace my tires at 30,000 miles. They are going on 8 years old. If one blows and costs me a lot of money in repairs, I don't think I can get Michelin to pay for it!
