Wind Noise

At speeds above 40mph there I have annoying wind noise I think is coming from the passenger side front window or entry door on my 1998 Gulf Stream Sun Voyager. Planning a trip to Maine (from New Jersey) late in May and would love to eliminate the noise before then.

Any suggestions on how to find source and eliminate?

  • What we did for the wind noise by the front door was to install a plastic drip-edge with 3M tape. We followed the forward edge of the door and it stopped the problem. The drip edge is L shaped.
For what it is worth that is what we did and problem solved.

CAREFULLY inspect the gasket around the windshield.. My Intruder came with the optional self-removing windshield and sure enough, when the wind got noisy there was a gap.. I've since tamed it two different ways, but I still have the problem from time to time.
  • Look and see if you have wind covers over your window drain holes at the bottom of each window. These are known to cause a lot of noise if they are missing.
