Mine is in the same location as others have stated. I was adding LED's and accidentally unplugged the sensor, and before I could react, it closed the awning. With it disconnected there was no easy way to override it except by using a jumper wire across the input terminals on the controller. Verify the supply wires as you don't want to short the power supply. I did on mine, however traced to a blown diode, so it cost me $1.69 at radio shack vs. $279 to replace the whole unit.
