Window Leak Question

Hello All! I am new to the forum and RVing. I purchased my 1996 Four Winds last fall and have been cleaning and restoring ever since. I am ready for a test run!

I have one final leak I need to fix and need some guidance please. Water is coming in around the cabover window. The rubber seal that is installed around the glass looks to have shrunk and is away from one corner of the window so I suspect that is where it is coming in. On the inside, when it rains, there will be water puddled in the window track until it overflows, so seems like it has to be coming in there. Is the rubber strip replaceable (by me?) or should I just put some type of caulking in that corner where the seal has pulled away? That seems like it would be the simplest fix. Thoughts???

    Call around and talk to glass installers in the area and find out if anyone has experience with pulling and reinstalling Class C cab over windows. Water leaks in cab over area are a BIG DEAL and you need to get this fixed. I don't think playing around with the rubber seal or applying caulk/goop is going to resolve the problem and eternabond might work but looks crappy.

    I just tackled this problem in mine. Granted, I did this as a temporary fix until I have time to pull the window and do a complete butyl putty tape replacement, but for now I did the following.
    - Cleaned up the old caulk and reinstalled the rubber gasket (mine did the same thing, it pulled away from the corner).
    - After cleaning everything up and reinstalling it firmly, I re-caulked every nook and cranny that I could find, both around the metal frame and along the gasket itself.
    - After it all dried, I applied a strip of Eterna Bond tape (black) around the entire window frame.
    Hopefully this will keep me dry until the end of the year when I'll then do the complete removal.

    The rubber strip is not the weather seal on the window. The glass is cemented to the metal frame and that is the seal. Putting the rubber back in place would probably help. I had a similar leak in my rear window and I cut drain slots similar to what the sliding windows have. I doubt that would help in the front though given the angle and the high winds when driving.
