window washing-Happy Camper Tank cleaner

I realize this is probably one of those stupid questions that gets under everyone's skin but....I'll ask any way.
Today I "tried" to wash the inside and outside of my new class A motor home, well it's new to me, front window. It looked really good until the sun hit it just right, then not so much. I used Windex. I applied the windex and cleaned with a paper towel twice. What am I doing wrong? What should I be doing in order to have a squeaky clean window?

Second, dumb question....has anyone any personal experience with the Happy Camper tank treatment chemicals? When I had my 5th wheel I used nothing but Calgon and NEVER, knock on wood, had a problem with cleaning my tanks or odors. Since this is a second hand motor home I feel compelled to use something stronger than Calgon.

Thanks for the sage words of wisdom.

That WAS a great trick -- it was the kerosene used to thin the newsprint ink that cut through the greasy film and left the glass so shiney. But they stopped using that type ink (a long time ago) because it used to get all over your hands and clothes when you read the paper -- it sure smelled good though!

  • Distilled water and a dash of vinegar....spritz on windshield and wipe with newspaper.....or one of them microfiber cloths

I don't use any chemicals in my tanks..just good flushing and dumping techniques.
