- fighterpilotaExplorerSafelite here in Pensacoola said no to replacement but would do chip repair if still smaller than credit card. Safelite 1-888 also confirmed NO to windshield replacement on RVs. I have calls in to two other glass shops. Thanks
- doxiemom11Explorer IISafelite may not have the windshield in stock, but they do rv windshields as do many auto glass repair shops. Your rv dealer and body shops call these guys to do the glass work when they do repairs.
Is this something covered under your insurance so you only have to pay your deductible? If so, contact your insurance company and see who they recommend. - The_TexanExplorerThe largest supplier of RV glass in the US is RV Glass Solutions. They have 2 divisions, RV Glass Experts, the wholesale US distributor with warehouses located throughout the US and RV Glass Solutions, the retail division. Contact them direct and they will give you all the info you want about your RV glass. They also will set up the installation and work with your insurance company. These folks deal in RV's and large trucks, NOT autos and they know their business...
- MustangGTExplorerSafelite replaced the windshield on my Mustang 2 years ago and while doing it I asked about RVs and exotic cars. The tech told me they can replace "ANYTHING". He said the week before he had replaced a windshield in a Lambo.
- jerseyjimExplorerI've replaced both windshield on my 2001 Dolphin....one was 2 stone chips that spider-webbed...and the other seemed to be a large stress crack....both about 5-6 years ago. No problems getting them, found a windshield/auto glass shop that would do the work....gave them the numbers and letters on the bottom of the glass, ordered and job done within 2 weeks. And, yes...both will be replaced AGAIN in the near future. Stones and my windshields seem to have a magnetic attraction for each other
It's my understanding (right or wrong?) that the glass making companies have all these codes and, with the older products, (not in stock) can make them to order quickly. Figure $1000+ each window. - Doug_and_Cassi_ExplorerCall any auto window place and ask if they do rv windshields. If they don't they can probably recommend. Safelite does NOT, at least the ones I called a month ago.
They can order it. They'll need the numbers down at the bottom and might require payment up front. One rv dealer required such payment as they can't send windshield back.
Passenger side windshield on my '05 Meridian was about $1,100 installed.
