It does make a difference whether you are a "long stay" camper or merely "overnighter". We are "overnighters" and prefer the inside the cab as we do not even have to step outdoors in the rain or cold. Also very easy to break camp and move on.
Personal story - We were spending the night in a small Wal-Mart with permission. We were not the only ones - a couple truck campers were also parked there. About 2:00 am, in the rain, heard a knock on the door (from security) to please move as a 18 wheeler (semi) needed to unload and we were all parked in his turn-a-round. I merely pulled down the inside cover and moved our unit to the designated area. The pickup campers had to completely dress (including umbrella), out the back stairs, into the cab and move their units. :B
