Hint....I cut a tennis ball in half and use them under the windshield wiper arms to keep them off of the cover to prevent those black lines from happening...works great.
:S How come you didn't tell us that hint years ago before I got those nasty permanent black marks on mine?! :B:B
Great Tip!
A kids pool noodle cut in half works well too. Simply cut it to match the size of the wiper. - n3eqfExplorerI haven't seen Easy Curtain mentioned here yet. I've used Easy Curtain in my RV's for the last 7 or 8 years (first E350 and now E450), and it's a great product. The 3-piece curtain hangs inside the RV over the windshield and side windows. It fits over the visors and mirror in the front, and under the top of each window on the sides. It blocks out light for complete privacy, and since it's inside the RV it stays clean and folds up neatly.
Check out www.easycurtain.net. - Jim_ShoeExplorerMine is stored inside when I'm not using it, but when traveling, I have a windshield cover that fits on the inside of the cab and attaches with small pieces of sticky back Velcro. I bought wheel covers early on, but I don't stay in one place long enough to bother with them.
- tenbearExplorerWe don't even have a windshield cover. The DW made a curtain that separates the cab from the rest of the coach. We use the cab for storage of bulky items while camped.
- Community AlumniOn our RoadTrek/Chevrolet we had an Adco cover and it worked out well. With the cover on, the curtains did not have to be closed and keeping the sun out made it cooler inside. When we traded in on a Sprinter, the old cover was not a perfect fit, so we ordered one at Camping world. It has a good fit and quality. But, don't make the mistake I made. I got a grey cover instead of white. The built-in retractable shades do a pretty good job on privacy and reflecting away the heat. The grey matches the RV and blends in well, looks real good. However, it converts more sunlight to heat than the white cover does and since it lays directly on the glass, it transfers the heat to the glass and the glass radiates the heat into the cab of the van. I am almost convinced that this arrangement is worse than if I just draw the built in shades. So, I guess this would be good to use in the winter. If the cover was made like an insulating blanket or I had a way to provide and air gap between the cover and the windshield, that would fix the problem. FYI

It might make a difference on the type of camping you do. We tend to only spend one night in a campground or park and then move on. We always put up a shield, but do so from the inside versus on the outside of the windshield. A lot easier when it is raining or when you pull out in the morning. It is all done from the inside. The cover came with the RV.
Do you use yor windshield cover only while camping or when stored at home as well?
Our unit is stored indoors when not out on the road, thus the windshield cover is not needed. - IAMICHABODExplorer IIHey thanks for the hint on the tennis balls I will try that.

Use it for storage because it also covers the wipers so no need to replace wipers more than once a year. Also when camping if there is lots of afternooon sun. Also have the reflector type but use the inside curtain the most. But often park in motorhome sites with great views instead of trailer sites. So set in seats to drink coffee and watch the rivers, streams, fisherman, wildlife ect..
