Windshield Replacement

What would be the best option on replacing the drivers side windshield in a '99 Dutch Star DP? Checked with local installers (Birmingham Al.) and no one very interested in the project. Am checking with some on-line internet sellers/installers and wondering if anyome has used these and if so would you please share their name and your experience.
Thanks for your time and information

  • Check with Donnie's in Trussville, located on the service road. We contacted our insurance company and we were told the windshield would be shipped to Donnie's. We had no problems with service.

Thanks to all for the information. After many phone calls, internet searches (with severalreplies) found a come to you installer that mostly does rvs.
Price from evryone about the same $1000.00 installed. As my luck goes my ins. ded. is $1000.00.
    Thanks Again

glass coverage is normally part of your comprehensive coverage, not your collision. comprehensive usually has a separate deductible and in many states glass replacement/repair carries no deductible. look at your policy or call your agent to be certain before you go out-of-pocket.

    RV Glass Solutions. Great company.

    Pogoil.

X2. Used them twice now with great service. Lucky that Florida law requires the insurance companies to cover windshields with zero deductable.

call your insurance agent. in addition to finding out hat your glass replacement is covered under your comprehensive plan they will likely have a referral for you.
  • I recently had both of mine replaced at Darren Thomas Glass in Sebring. Fl. If you call coach glass they will set up an installer in your area I believe.
  • Call your insurance company and have them handle it.
Most insurance will want to do both sides.
Get the glass ID numbers out of the lower corners of the glass.
We (insurance company) have used Safelite.
  • I had to replace mine a couple of weeks ago. I called the local RV dealer and they provided a guy who did a great k=job. He even had a truck setup with a flatbed so that he could back up to the front of the coach and stand on the flatbed and do the work.
